Job Search AI is a full-stack platform that streamlines the entire job application process using artificial intelligence. Instead of manually rewriting resumes for every role, users paste a job description and the AI generates a tailored resume highlighting their most relevant skills and experience. The platform also provides match scoring, gap analysis, ATS compatibility checking, cover letter generation, and a full application tracker.

Profile Builder & AI Resume Parsing#
The About Me section serves as the foundation for all AI-powered features. Users build a comprehensive profile with basic info, professional summary, skills, work experience with impact-driven highlights, and education. The platform also supports drag-and-drop resume upload (PDF/DOCX) with AI-powered parsing that intelligently extracts and auto-fills all profile fields. This stored profile data is what the AI uses to generate tailored resumes and cover letters for each job application.
Technical Architecture#
Built with a modern full-stack architecture featuring a FastAPI backend with Python 3.11+, connected to a PostgreSQL database managed through Docker Compose. The frontend utilizes Next.js 15 with the App Router, React 19, TypeScript 5, and Tailwind CSS 4 for a responsive, professional user interface. The API layer is fully type-safe using openapi-fetch with auto-generated TypeScript types from the OpenAPI schema. Authentication is handled through JWT dual-token auth with 30-minute access tokens and 7-day refresh tokens, with route protection via Next.js middleware.
Project Scale & Impact#
This production-ready application features a comprehensive backend with 20+ API endpoints organized across auth, resumes, applications, users, and dashboard routers. The service layer pattern separates business logic from route handlers, with dedicated services for AI resume generation, ATS analysis, resume parsing, and cover letter creation. The database schema uses UUID primary keys and soft deletes across all core tables. The frontend includes 10+ pages with protected routing, a type-safe API client, and full dark/light theme support.
